What do you love about your EP city?

What I love about Jakarta or what others refer to as "The Big Durian" is being able to appreciate the simplicity in life. Jakarta may be a big city in the eyes of many but my interactions with the locals remind me to count my blessings and to focus on what matters the most in life.

How did you come to be here?

Growing up from an immigrant Asian family that places emphasis on the importance of education and being a high achiever, it was only in my mid30s in the island of Okinawa that I truly found myself.

It was then, when I was a trailing spouse back on yet another overseas relocation, a career woman, and a new mother struggling to find balance that I came to a full stop - I quit my stable, federal job and became a full time entrepreneur.

I was able to define how I want to be remembered by my family and the realization that we can always reinvent ourselves. Embracing entrepreneurship taught me to anchor myself with my personal values and align my actions and decision-making process with what I believe as right for me (not by any one else's standards).
